RiPlayPrivacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how RiPlay ("we", "our", or "the App") handles information when you use our open-source music player application and the website at https://riplayapk.com (the "Site"). RiPlay is developed and maintained by Fast4x and is released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 (GPL-3.0).
By downloading, installing, or using RiPlay, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Summary of Our Privacy Practices
RiPlay is built with privacy as a core principle. In short:
- We do not collect personal data. Your library, playlists, history, statistics, and settings stay on your device.
- No account is required to use RiPlay.
- No ads, no analytics, no trackers. Exodus Privacy reports show 0 known trackers in the app.
- Online playback uses the official YouTube IFrame Player API inside a WebView, which is subject to Google's own privacy practices.
- The full source code is public, so anyone can audit what the App does.
3. What Data We Do Not Collect
RiPlay does not collect, transmit, or store any of the following:
- Personal identifiers (name, email address, phone number)
- Account credentials (RiPlay does not require an account)
- Location data
- Device identifiers or advertising IDs
- Listening history sent to any server (the app has no backend)
- Playlists, favorites, or library contents
- Usage analytics or crash reports sent to us
- Contacts, calendar data, or messages
Because we do not collect this data, we cannot share, sell, or disclose it to third parties.
4. Data Stored on Your Device
All data generated by your use of RiPlay is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to us. This includes:
- Your music library metadata (titles, artists, albums, playlists)
- Listening history and statistics
- Playlists and favorites
- App settings and preferences
- Cached lyrics (where applicable)
- Listening "Rewind" summaries and badges
- Blacklists and ignored items
This data remains under your control at all times. Uninstalling the App or clearing its data will remove it from your device.
5. Permissions and Why They Are Needed
RiPlay requests certain Android permissions to deliver its core functionality. These are used only on your device and are not used to collect or transmit data.

Note on the Full vs. FOSS build: The Full build includes an auto-update mechanism that requires the REQUEST_INSTALL_PACKAGES permission. The FOSS build omits this permission entirely.
6. Online Playback and Third-Party Services
RiPlay supports online streaming through YouTube and YouTube Music. When you use online features:
- Playback is handled by the YouTube Player library, which wraps the official YouTube IFrame Player API inside a WebView.
- RiPlay does not download or cache online content on your behalf.
- Your interactions with YouTube are governed by Google's Privacy Policy and YouTube's Terms of Service, not by this Privacy Policy.
RiPlay does not share any of your local data with YouTube or Google. If you connect a YouTube account inside RiPlay, your login credentials are handled by Google's authentication system. RiPlay does not store your YouTube password.
7. No Trackers, Analytics, or Advertising
Exodus Privacy's analysis of RiPlay reports 0 known trackers and 0 advertising or analytics SDKs. RiPlay contains:
- No Google Analytics
- No Firebase Analytics
- No Facebook SDK
- No advertising SDKs
- No crash-reporting SDKs that transmit data to third parties
8. Data Security
Because RiPlay does not transmit your personal data to us, the primary security consideration is the security of your device. We recommend:
- Keeping RiPlay updated to the latest version
- Installing only from official sources: riplayapk.com, the GitHub Releases page
- Reviewing permissions before granting them
9. International Data Transfers
The RiPlay app does not transfer your personal data internationally because it does not collect or transmit personal data to us. The website is served by hosting infrastructure that may be located in different countries; the hosting provider may process request data in the region where its servers are located. If you use online playback, any data processed by YouTube may be transferred internationally in accordance with Google's policies.
10. Your Rights
Because RiPlay does not collect personal data, there is no stored data for us to access, correct, or delete on your behalf. You have full control over all locally stored data:
- Access: All data is visible in the App.
- Deletion: Uninstall the App or clear its data via Android Settings.
- Portability: Use the App's backup/export features to move data.
- Withdrawal of consent: Revoke permissions at any time via Android Settings.
11. Children's Privacy
RiPlay does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). Because no personal data is collected, the App is safe for use by all audiences. Parents and guardians should still supervise their children's use of online features, as those are governed by YouTube's policies.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do:
- The "Last updated" date at the top will be revised.
- Material changes will be announced in the GitHub repository.
- Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

RiPlay is licensed under the GNU General Public License v3.0. The complete source code is available at github.com/fast4x/RiPlay. You are free to inspect, audit, modify, and redistribute the code in accordance with the GPL-3.0.

15. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland: Because RiPlay does not collect or process personal data on our servers, there is no legal basis required for processing. Any local processing on your device is performed solely to provide the App's functionality.
16. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
For California residents: RiPlay does not sell or share personal information. Because we do not collect personal information, there is no data to disclose, delete, or opt out of.
